This is when an attacking team loses possession and concedes it to the opposition. It can either be a result of bad play from the attacking side – a loose pass or dropping the ball – or good play from the defending side – a good tackle or an interception. It normally results in a good attacking opportunity in the form of a counter attack as the side who concede the turn over and not set up to defend and can often be exposed as a result.
