Other tricks which can produce a sense of light and space
include uplighters to make a room feel taller, or painting
a single stripe around the top of a room to draw the eye upwards.
Avoid big, heavy accessories such as chandeliers which will
make a room feel crowded.
Mirrors are brilliant for small spaces, as they bounce light
around the room, and opposite a door or window will give the
impression that the room extends further than it does. To
help with this, let in as much light as possible by hanging
light coloured blinds or curtains.
