But it’s not just about the colours you choose. Dark
colours, used carefully, don’t have to close down a
room.
Keep it simple, and just use one darker colour combined with
light shades to create clean, crisp lines. This will help
to stop a room looking cluttered.
Another trick is to prevent radiators, skirting boards and
dado rails from breaking up your walls. To make them blend
in, paint them the same colour as the walls. With radiators,
don’t forget to paint any exposed pipes as well.
